To those who made it out to our “Suite” Garden Party on August 24, a big thank you! Events like this, where we can really show off our work, are an essential part of our process. We take great pride in our work and having the opportunity to mix and mingle with the community, customers and friends allows us to speak to what makes us different.
Building a garden suite is a unique project. Special care must be taken to ensure we’re fusing the existing charm of the neighbourhood with a modern look and feel. We can talk about it, show pictures and plans but seeing the real thing really displays the amount of thought that goes into a garden suite.
For this event, the weather cooperated (which is a huge deal in Edmonton these days), the turn out was better than expected and we all indulged on delectable local eats. A big “thank you” these folks for making the event memorable: Casa 12 Dolce food truck, Yelo’d Ice Cream & Sonic 102.9. A huge shout-out to YEG Garden Suites for their help in putting on this event. Their focus is to educate Edmontonians on all things ‘garden suite’ and they do so with tours, workshops and collaborating on events like this. We couldn’t have done it without them.

It was such a hit in fact, we’re thinking of bringing it back every year. In case you missed it on our Instagram, we took the liberty of naming August the official month of Garden Suites in Edmonton. If we held something like this next August, would we see your name on the guest list?
If you weren’t able to make it out or just want to see some beautiful suites again, we have pictures of some projects up on our website: https://www.timberhaus.ca
WE ALSO HAVE TO MENTION....
This event came just a few days before big changes to Edmonton’s Bylaw’s Enabling Missing Middle Development. We have now been cleared to build both basement suites and garden suites on the same lot. This opens up even more opportunity for homeowners to be making passive with their existing homes and lots. For more information on this change and more, check out: www.infilledmonton.com
